D & J Coins

A Sheridan coin business tracing its Main Street opening to 1978, with separate numismatic and gold-and-silver bullion categories.

Two collecting paths in Sheridan

D & J Coins separates its online catalogue into numismatic and bullion sections. Collecting categories include U.S. denominations, world coins, colonials and territorial pieces; bullion categories explicitly cover gold and silver coins, bars and rounds. These are useful starting points for a discussion, not a promise that each item is available.

Tell the shop whether you are filling a historical collection or comparing metal products. For the former, date, mint mark and condition matter to the request; for the latter, specify the form and quantity you want to discuss.

A Main Street start in 1978

The operator says Dan Norris moved from part-time dealing to full-time business in 1978, opening D & J Coins on Main Street in Sheridan. Its history also describes the involvement of Mike Norris and Joanne. That account establishes a Main Street beginning, but not the opening year of the exact present premises.

Returns and bullion buyback are different

The published return policy allows qualifying numismatic returns with original undamaged packaging, prior telephone contact and a postmark within seven days of receipt. It excludes bullion refunds, instead offering buyback based on market conditions. Return shipping must be insured and tracked; shipping charges are not refundable.

Before buying, ask which policy applies to the particular item and purchase method. A later bullion buyback may produce a different amount from the original price. Keep the invoice and packaging, and clarify any uncertainty before completing a transaction.

Use the current North Main address

The contact page lists 194 N. Main Street, Sheridan, WY 82801, and 307-672-2177 for questions. It publishes Monday through Saturday hours. Confirm the schedule and any particular item before making a special journey.

For a collection discussion, describe the broad contents and approximate size when calling. A short written list helps you keep track of the pieces discussed and the questions still needing an answer.

Three questions for the counter

  1. Is this item treated as numismatic material or bullion under your policy?
  2. What return or buyback terms apply to this purchase method?
  3. Can you confirm the item and a suitable time to visit the North Main shop?
