THE COLLECTOR’S TIME MACHINE
Metal through time.
A small stack. A different year. Explore how the value of the metal itself has changed.

Every number needs a source.
Choose your inputs above. Verified historical data or your own two prices will give this story its numbers.

A CLEARER PICTURE
Metal value.
Nothing hidden.
Understand the two moments.
A historical annual average is a reference for an entire year, not the price on the day you bought. A latest monthly average is dated historical data, never a live spot quote.
Keep the metal in focus.
Quantity held keeps your fine-metal weight constant. Amount spent estimates a hypothetical fine-metal quantity. Neither mode includes collectible premiums, dealer spreads, fees, shipping, taxes, storage, condition, or selling costs.
Get the units right.
A troy ounce is 31.1034768 grams. An ordinary pound is 453.59237 grams. Fineness is applied only to gross alloy weight. Values are nominal US dollars, without inflation or exchange-rate adjustments.

Calculations stay in your browser. This calculator sets no cookies and sends no analytics. It loads a data snapshot from this website. The theme button saves your appearance choice in this browser, using the same preference as the rest of the site. Your calculation inputs are not stored or uploaded. Creating a share link puts your selected amounts and prices into its URL fragment. Anyone you send the link to can read those inputs. Do not share information you want to keep private.
